    people are people. and the lack of an abundance of people is what has always hurt bbsing since after the 3rd wave. bbses are about people. imagine how much other services on the web would suck if just the operators talked to other operators.

    i dont really see that much of that stuff. i dont consider it invasive if there's one ad on a page. i just dont want it fucking up my experience. they have to pay the bills. think about how expensive it is to run a service for millions of people.

    Well, now there is not an ad on the page. There are lots of ads, and the articles and videos are being made less interesting and more tailored to generate visits than to provide any value to the audience. Lots of videos are pure clickbait "You won't believe what happened when I did X!" and obviously when you check what happened, it was something utterly boring (and shame on anybody who falls for it).

    The issue is they have realized that ad-revenue is a dead end in the long term so they are trying to make the expeirence so misserable you end up paying for premium. Then, once you paid for premium, they start shoving ads up your ass anyway.

    They can fuck off. Adblockers all the way to the top.
